Senior Full-Stack .NET Developer

GistLens is looking for an experienced and talented Senior Full-Stack .NET Developer to join the development team on a full-time basis. You'll work as part of a small but rapidly growing team delivering amazing software.

More about our team:

At GistLens we add incredible value to our clients by tackling tough problems. We work with cutting edge technology, and find innovative solutions. We do it in an atmosphere of collaboration, encouragement, and support. We celebrate mistakes as signposts for how to improve the way we operate in the future.

We are always growing, learning, and adapting, in and out of the office. You'll be joining a team that is highly engaged and direct.

If you're excited about the idea of working on mind-bending challenges, where your efforts are acknowledged and appreciated, then we want you to meet you.

Location:

While we would give preference to a candidate from the Newcastle area, we have a remote team, so you will need the ability to work independently and unsupervised, either from home or from a co-working space.

What you'll do:

  • Develop high-quality bespoke software code
  • Design and build user interfaces on top of a large variety of APIs, third party services, and frameworks
  • Build services with APIs connected to a variety of databases, message queues and third party services
  • Talk through requirements with the development team
  • Take part in technical design and progress meetings
  • Participate in stand-ups, sprint planning, and demos with co-workers and clients
  • Keep accurate records of the development process, changes and results
  • Maintain and support systems once they’re up and running
  • Improve the quality of code with tests, code quality tools, and code reviews
  • Build and deploy your software with automation tools to cloud or dedicated servers
  • Discover, learn and integrate new technologies into applications to speed up system development or offer cutting edge services to our clients
  • Contribute to the creation of a new software development team at GistLens
  • Mentor junior developers on the technical team, teaching them how to do complex coding
  • Discuss project requirements and project status with clients

On your first day, we'll expect you to have:

  • Excellent written communication in English
  • Experience with .NET Core (C#)
  • Experience with Vuejs (or React / Angular)
  • Experience with modern unit testing frameworks (e.g., Jest, xUnit)
  • Deep understanding of front-end and back-end architecture and data-driven development

It's great, but not required if you have:

  • Experience with React and Angular
  • Experience with large scale single page web applications
  • Experience engineering software systems of medium-to-large scope and complexity
  • Practical knowledge of agile software development methodologies (e.g., scrum)
  • Experience with continuous delivery and infrastructure as code
  • Ability to work with designers to develop dynamic user experiences

Benefits:

  • Competitive base salary
  • 1 day off a year for charity work of your choice (in addition to annual leave)
  • Flexible working hours
